General Description
EDDIE Screening Buckets – Efficient Screening and Processing Directly with the Excavator
The EDDIE FBS15, FBS20 and FBS30 Screening Buckets are powerful hydraulic excavator attachments designed for screening, separating and processing sand, gravel, soil and similar bulk materials. The rotating screening drum allows material to be classified directly at the job site according to particle size and prepared for further use.
With three models for excavators from 10 to 28 tons, EDDIE offers suitable solutions for different carrier machines and material quantities. The Screening Buckets are designed for both dry screening and wet applications, including washing mountain sand and river sand. Interchangeable screens from 10 to 60 mm provide flexibility for different materials and required particle sizes.
Key Advantages at a Glance
- For excavators from 10 to 28 tons: Three models – FBS15, FBS20 and FBS30 – for different carrier sizes and applications.
- Suitable for various materials: Designed for screening sand, gravel, soil and fine ground materials.
- Dry and wet operation: Excellent sealing makes the buckets suitable for both dry screening and wet washing applications.
- Interchangeable screens: Different screen sizes from 10 to 60 mm allow adaptation to varying materials and screening requirements.
- Easy screen replacement: The main internal screen features a split design, allowing individual sections to be replaced separately.
- High wear resistance: Wear-resistant screen material provides high screening efficiency and long service life.
- Protected drive system: The integrated bearing and motor design provides strong sealing against material and moisture.
- Large drum diameters: Depending on the model, drum diameter ranges from 1,000 to 1,320 mm.
- Capacity up to 1.6 m³: Model capacities range from 0.8 to 1.6 m³.
- Consistent hydraulic requirements: All models operate at 200 bar with a recommended flow rate of 70 l/min.
Efficient Screening with Excavator Hydraulics
EDDIE Screening Buckets are powered by the excavator's hydraulic system. The hydraulic motor rotates the screening drum, allowing finer material to pass through the screen while larger particles remain inside.
All three models operate at a working pressure of 200 bar and require a recommended hydraulic flow rate of 70 l/min.
Depending on the model, drum diameters are 1,000, 1,160 or 1,320 mm. Combined with bucket capacities from 0.8 to 1.6 m³, the range can efficiently handle different quantities of material.
Interchangeable Screens for Different Particle Sizes
A major advantage of EDDIE Screening Buckets is their modular screening system. Different screen configurations can be installed to achieve particle sizes from 10 to 60 mm.
The main internal screen features a split design, allowing individual screen sections to be replaced separately. This simplifies maintenance and makes it possible to change the screening specification without replacing the entire drum.
For the FBS15 and FBS20, EDDIE lists screen configurations including 30 × 50 and 50 × 50 mm, while the FBS30 includes 30 × 60 and 60 × 60 mm configurations. Depending on the installed screen, sizes from 10 to 60 mm are available.
Suitable for Dry and Wet Applications
The integrated bearing and motor design provides strong sealing performance. According to EDDIE, this makes the Screening Buckets suitable for both dry screening and wet washing applications.
Typical applications include:
- Sand processing: Screening and washing mountain sand and river sand
- Gravel screening: Separating gravel into different particle sizes
- Soil processing: Screening soil and ground materials
- On-site recycling: Processing existing materials directly at the construction site
- Sand yards: Sorting and processing different sand materials
- Mixing plants: Preparing and classifying raw materials
- High-mud-content materials: Wet screening and washing contaminated materials
EDDIE – Flexible Screening Technology for Excavators from 10 to 28 Tons
