EDDIE Scrap Grapples – Secure Handling of Scrap, Metal and Demolition Material

EDDIE Scrap Grapples FGWS04 to FGWS08 are powerful hydraulic attachments designed for gripping, sorting, moving and loading scrap and irregular materials. Their specially designed full-closure claws securely surround the material, helping prevent smaller or loose pieces from falling out during handling.

With three models for excavators from 5 to 40 tons, the range covers smaller recycling and demolition applications as well as heavy-duty operations in large scrap yards, steel mills and foundries. Maximum openings from 1,675 to 2,300 mm, hydraulic working pressures of up to 274 kg/cm², and robust claws allow efficient handling of loose metal scrap, steel components, demolition debris and large irregular materials.

Key Advantages at a Glance

• For excavators from 5 to 40 tons: Three models – FGWS04, FGWS06 and FGWS08 – cover different carrier sizes and applications.
• Large maximum opening: Depending on the model, maximum openings range from 1,675 to 2,300 mm.
• Full-closure claws: The claw design securely holds loose and irregular scrap materials.
• Extended tines: Longer tines make it easier to grip bulky steel components, profiles and larger pieces of scrap.
• High working pressure: Maximum working pressure is 240 or 274 kg/cm², depending on the model.
• Hydraulic rotation: All models feature hydraulic rotation with a maximum rotation pressure of 140 kg/cm².
• Secure irregular-material handling: Specifically designed for scrap, metal waste and demolition debris.
• Robust construction: Reinforced and wear-resistant claws are designed for demanding contact with sharp and heavy metal.
• Industrial applications: Suitable for scrap yards, steel mills, foundries and demolition sites.

Powerful Gripping with Excavator Hydraulics

EDDIE Scrap Grapples are powered by the excavator's hydraulic system. The FGWS04 and FGWS06 require a grabbing flow rate of 90 to 110 l/min, while the larger FGWS08 operates at 120 to 200 l/min. Maximum working pressure is 240 kg/cm² for the FGWS04 and 274 kg/cm² for both the FGWS06 and FGWS08.

For hydraulic rotation, all three models have a maximum rotation pressure of 140 kg/cm². FGWS04 and FGWS06 require a rotation flow rate of 30 to 50 l/min, while the FGWS08 requires 40 to 60 l/min. This allows flexible orientation and precise positioning during material handling.

Full-Closure Claws for Irregular Materials

A key feature of EDDIE Scrap Grapples is their full-closure claw design. The claws close securely around the load, making them particularly effective when handling loose, irregularly shaped or mixed scrap.

Extended tines also make it easier to handle larger and bulkier components. The FGWS04 is designed for lighter applications, while the FGWS06 and especially the FGWS08 are suitable for larger quantities and heavier steel and demolition materials.

Versatile for Material-Handling Applications

EDDIE Scrap Grapples are particularly suitable for:

• Scrap handling: Gripping, sorting and loading metal and steel scrap
• Recycling: Handling and sorting recyclable materials
• Demolition: Clearing and moving metal and demolition debris
• Steel mills: Handling steel waste, profiles and heavy metal scrap
• Foundries: Moving and sorting foundry and production waste
• Bulky materials: Gripping large and irregular components
• Scrap yards: Sorting and loading mixed metal waste

EDDIE – Reliable Scrap Handling for Excavators from 5 to 40 Tons
