General Description

The APV control valve series is a highly modular sectional valve design. For the APV16 size, the spool section is the central base. It consists of I) a spool section, II) basic or custom m

anifold blocks, and III) spring and end caps. A maximum of 12 parallel sections are possible on the APV16. To complete the valve, an input plate is also required in addition to an end plate. There are versions for fixed displacement pumps as well as for LS pumps.
Conventional directional control valves control start, stop and directions of movement of hydraulic motors and cylinders. However, the speed of these users depends on the load pressure. If this load pressure varies then the speed is hardly controllable.
AMCA's APV Series proportional directional control valves are pressure compensated and achieve ideal control of force, speed, acceleration and deceleration, regardless of load and increased requirements.

Function

Inlet plates are available for fixed displacement and variable displacement pumps, as well as constant pressure systems. Pilot pressure relief valves are included to limit pilot pressure. The P and T port is available in ¾" BSP or 12" SAE ORB. The inlet plate terminates the valve sections on one side and is connected to the valve sections and end plate with tie rods.

Inlet Section for Fixed Displacement Pumps

For fixed displacement pumps the input plate "508U" is used (INLET 16K U 420B). This inlet section is equipped with a 3-way compensator, which is also used for main pressure limitation in the pump line. The "508U" can be easily converted into a "508S". Replacement plugs and orifice plate are accessible from the outside.

Inlet Section for Load Sensing Pumps

The "508S" can be used for load sensing pumps (INLET 16K S 420B). The inlet section is equipped with a pilot operated pressure relief valve.in the pump line. The "508S" can be easily converted into the "508S". Replacement plugs and orifice plate are accessible from the outside.

Load Sensing Pumps of Pressure Compensated Systems

For load sensing pumps or pressure compensated pump systems the "302N" is suitable (INLET 10K NJ 350B). The input section is only with a pressure valve in the main LS line.

Fixed Displacement Pumps with Serial Connection or High-Pressure Secondary Line

To supply a secondary circuit the input plate "302R" is suitable to be operated with a fixed displacement pump (INLET 10K RJ 350B).

Other Input Options: Anti-Saturation and LS Amplifier Block

This block contains both functions. The anti-saturation function can reduce the control pressure if the pump is providing less flow than the sections being operated require. This results in a general speed reduction of all operated sections. Thus, the user can still operate all functions simultaneously.
The LS amplifier can add a maximum of 7 bar to the LS signal going to the pump. This is done by feeding a small amount of pressure from the P-line into the LS-line.

Other Input Options: Pump Unloading and Proportional Pressure Control: D/E Function

With the pump unloading function, the load pressure signal from the control sections can be fed directly into the tank. Electrical control is available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC with 2/2 way cartridge in
Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) configuration. For remote proportional control of valve block maximum pressure, electrical proportional pressure relief is available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC.

The inlet plate AP-1610-508U (INLET 16K U 420B) is suitable for section valve APV16 and suitable for operation with fixed displacement pumps. The inlet plate is equipped with a 3-way pressure compensator, which serves as the main pressure limiter for the pump line.508U can be easily converted to 508S.
