General Description
The APV control valve series is a highly modular sectional valve design, available in sizes APV10, APV16, APV22 and APV32 or flow rates between 80 l/min and 1000 l/min. Optionally, the APV can also be configured in subplate design. For the size APV10 the spool section is the central basis and needs to be completed with inlet and end plates. The section comprises of the control spool section, including the load compensator, the main control spool, standard or customer specific connection block, as well as spring caps and end caps that define the control mode. For the APV10 a maximum of 15 parallel sections are possible if the small end plate is used. In case of the wide end plate 14 parallel sections are possible.The controller (AP-1020-356J) is used for proportional control of the valve section via CAN bus.
Standard directional valves control start, stop and direction of motion of hydraulic motors and cylinders. However, the speed of these consumers depend on the load pressure. If the load pressure varies the speed can hardly be controlled. The AMCA proportional, directional valves of the APV series are load compensated and thus provide an ideal control of force, speed, acceleration and deceleration, independant of the load and further boundary conditions. The valves can be operated with LS pumps as well as with fixed displacement pumps.
All components are available uncoated in the standard version and in seawater-resistant Protalloy coating.
Example Configuration
Below is a complete APV10 sample configuration consisting of several spool sections as well as different connection blocks, end caps with pilot valves, spring end caps as well as the input and end plate. In general, the configuration can be completely customized. Details on the configuration of the APV10 connection blocks can be found in the configuration key shown below. The operation principle of the APV10 proportional section subsequently is described. The spool section itself consists of the 2-way compensator with delta-p adjustment. Thus the flow can be adjusted without stroke limitation. Each control section has got a emergency handling mechanism. A lever can be configured and mounted. In order to use alternative operation methods different end caps have to be used. Below spool sections with the varying, available operation methods are displayed. The high pressure line is shown in red, the tank return line is displayed in green. The load compensator can be seen in the lower part of the cross sectional view. The control spool can be seen in the upper part.

Two basic control spool types are available,- the A spool, for which all parts are closed in neutral position and
- the C-spool, for which in neutrol position P is closed and A/B are connected to the T line, with 20% nominal cross section.
