General description
The MEV-12-ASFFA-30/30/A is a proportional 4/3-way valve. It is usually required as part of an overall configuration (see also sample configuration).Conventional directional valves control the start, stop and direction of movement of hydraulic motors and cylinders. However, the speed of these hydraulic consumers depends on the load pressure. If this load pressure varies then the speed is hardly controllable.
The M-Series AMCA Proportional directional valves are pressure-compensated and achieve ideal control of force, speed, acceleration and deceleration, regardless of load and increased requirements.
What are the advantages of AMCA proportional directional valves?
The shape of the AMCA proportional directional control valve spool differs from the conventional one. The result is a progressive flow curve. In order to make optimal use of the maximum stroke of the spool, the flow angles of the A and/or B port can be defined for the different flows. For a constant flow, the pressure drop over the orifice of the spool remains constant, independent of the load pressure.
Example Configuration
Below is a complete example configuration consisting of a MEV, the subplates and the pressure limiting valve is shown. The details of the configuration of the MEV can be found in the configuration key shown below.Function
The function of the proportional directional valve with electrically controlled pilot section (MEV) is explained below. When the solenoid a is actuated, it pushes the control spool in the direction of solenoid b and opens the spool cross-section 1. This releases control pressure on the spring chamber 1 (speed controlled by the adjustable throttle 5) as well as through the hole 3 to the end of the spool opposite the solenoid a. The balancing force on the control valve is the force of the solenoid, which is proportional to the electrical input signal. The balancing force corresponds to the control pressure in solenoid b and also in the spring chamber 1. This pressure presses the main valve against the spring in the spring chamber 2 and thus occupies a position proportional to the electrical input signal. With the screws on the spring chambers, the maximum flow can be limited in which the screws are screwed in and thus limit the main valve in its stroke. The simplified hydraulic schematic is shown below.
Details
This valve is a proportional 4/3-way valve in subplate design of nominal size 12; The maximum operating pressure is 350 bar, the maximum volume flow is 30 l/min, the driving magnet is a version in 12 VDC and IP65 with (pin) emergency manual actuation (5070A100007).Spool type is an A-spool.
